A committee of the members of the Board of Directors of ICRIC travelled to Turkey on Feb 19-21,2009 to accomplish the opening of the ICRIC projects especially “Halalworld Brand”, “Muslim Excellence & Competiveness Corporation Award (MECCAward) “ and “Islamic Countries Tourism Chain (ICTC)”.
Engineer Salimi, Dr. Fakhari and Dr. Karbasi succeeded to prompt the following actions in this journey...
1- Meeting with IR. of Iran ambassador about ICRIC programs During a meeting with H.E. Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkey, they explained about their success and ICRIC programs and while the ambassador expressing his satisfaction of these programs, he declared his readiness and the Embassy for all different cooperation. He asked Economic Attaches to pursue these projects.
2- Discussing with the Director General of Standard of Turkey
Following the first visit with Yavaz Mollah Saleh Beglo in Iran, next visit was also successful.
He showed his satisfaction of companionship of Iran and Turkey to finalize Halal Standards in the next month meeting in Jeddah and emphasized about his readiness for total cooperation. Mr. Yavaz also evaluated the cooperation with Iran Standard Institute and demanded the final version of Standard Institute of Iran.
3- Visiting with Deputy Minister of Agriculture
Visiting with Nihat Pakdel, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and General Director of the control of foodstuff in Turkey brought positive results. He emphasized that:
“Cooperation with Islamic Countries in the world is very essential”. After making familiar with ICRIC programs, he said that if Turkey can take Halal Brand, his country can export most of the meat products to Islamic Countries.
4- Visiting with Vice Minister of Commerce
Visiting with Mr. Sherkt, Vice Minister of Commerce in ECO countries affairs was very important. Recently, he visited Iran and also visited Dr. Nahavandian and said it is very important to set a unit standard among Islamic Countries and asked for the cooperation the cooperation of Iran in Jeddah Sessions. After explaining that one year ago ICRIC set this unit standard, he surprised and demanded the cooperation of authorities of two countries in the field of economic exchanges.
5- Establishing of ICRIC Office in Turkey in near future
Following necessity of active pursuing of ICRIC projects in Turkey, the initial of establishing an office consulted with executive responsible in Turkey. They determined that after official formalities, this office will be opened in Ankara.
6- Second Muslim Excellence & Competitiveness Award (MECCAward)
Following the decision of governing council of MECCAward about second stages of MEECAWARD ceremony in Turkey, the initial actions was done in regard to choose an executor. It was determined that “Tumsert” follows the MECCAWARD project with the cooperation of Iranian partner with hosting of Turkey next November.
7- Interview with the Representative of Islamic Republic News Agency
In an interview with Mr. Zenozi, the delegate of Islamic Republic of News Agency in Turkey a report of actions propounded about this journey, and Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ICRIC and Iran Chamber of Commerce Industries and Mines for cooperation with Turkey with the aim of good reflection in the mass media of Iran and Turkey.
