Prof. Chenguang Yang
University of the West of England, UK

Biography: Professor Yang is the group leader of Robot Teleoperation with Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL), the most comprehensive academic center for multi-disciplinary robotics research in the UK. He was awarded the prestigious IEEE Transactions on Robotics Best Paper Award as lead author in 2012, and over ten Best Paper Awards from leading international conferences in robotics. He was also awarded EU FP-7 Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship (individual) and EPSRC UKRI Innovation Fellowship. He serves as Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Robotics (T-RO), IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering (T-ASE), IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) and International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) as well as a number of other top international journals. Prof Yang is a Senior Member of IEEE, and is Co-Chair of Technical Committee on Collaborative Automation for Flexible Manufacturing (CAFM), IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and Co-Chair of Technical Committee on Bio-mechatronics and Bio-robotics Systems (B2S), IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. He has served as Program chair of the 26th IEEE International Conference on Automation and Computing, Publicity Chair of the 29th IEEE International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive Communication (Ro-MAN), Award Chair of 2019 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics (ICARM), Program Co-chair of the 19th UK Workshop on Computational Intelligence (UKCI) and Program Co-chair of the 11th Human Friendly Robotics Conference.

 


Assoc. Prof. LIU Lu
City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Biography: Dr. Lu Liu received her Ph.D. degree in 2008 in the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. From 2009 to 2012, she was an Assistant Professor in The University of Tokyo, Japan, and then a Lecturer in The University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. After that, she joined City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, where she is currently an Associate Professor. Her research interests are primarily in networked dynamical systems, control theory and applications and biomedical devices. She received the Best Paper Award (Guan Zhaozhi Award) of the 27th Chinese Control Conference in 2008, the Shimemura Young Author Award of the 11th Asian Control Conference in 2017, the Zhang Si-Ying Outstanding Youth Paper Award of the 30th Chinese Control and Decision Conference, and the Best Paper Award the 13th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation in 2018. She also received the President’s Award in City University of Hong Kong in 2018, and CityU Outstanding Research Award for Junior Faculty in 2020. Dr. Liu served in organizing committee or operating committee of several international Conferences including the Program Chair of 2017 IEEE International Conference on Control and Automation.
